Edwards Speech Pathology Center (ESPC) was established on Fall of 2006 in Glendale, Californian. Since then, our staffs grow including 4 speech therapists servicing over 50 children and adults with communication impairments, swallowing disorders and etc. We provide treatment, both at our clinic and at the patient’s home. We also travel to various private schools and day care centers in all areas with in 25 mile radius. Additional services we provide at the centers or homes include language stimulation therapy, Neuromuscular Electrical Stimulation Therapy (NMES) for dysphasia (swallowing difficulty), accent reduction therapy and more.
The ability to communicate thoughts and feelings is one of the most basic of human needs. When one or more of these skills are compromised to the extent that they interfere with the ability to share thoughts and feelings with others communication disorders occur. The elements of effective communication involve speaking, hearing, and understanding.
At ESPC, we provide a comprehensive array of diagnostic and therapeutic services aimed at the identification, prevention and/or rehabilitation of impairments in children and adults. We evaluate each individual to determine appropriate diagnosis, develop an individual treatment plan that will incorporate the most adequate therapy approach and techniques for that person, and address family/caregiver’s concerns. At ESPC we educate families on the techniques that are utilized during each session, additionally providing ideas of carryover through daily activities. Treatment is provided through play-based, one-in-one therapy sessions, child-centered, family-friendly approaches.
We have been providing comprehensive diagnosis and therapeutic services to children and adults with communication disorders for over 5 years. Today, ESPC averages over 25,000 patient visits annually serving a culturally diverse population which includes infants, children, adolescents, adults and senior citizens.
